Call for Individual Contributions: 21st International Association for the Study of the Commons Biennial Conference (Deadline: November 10, 2026)

Call for Individual Contributions
The 2027 IASC Organizers invite you to contribute and share your work, knowledge and skills, or experience in the upcoming conference in Makassar, Indonesia on 21 – 25 June, 2027.
Your contribution can be a paper presentation, a commons practitioner presentation, a roundtable contribution, a poster, a short film, or an outdoor workshop on art and commons. The organizers encourage everyone to join this important conference in-person and they will design hybrid sessions as well.
Submit your proposal by using the form which applies to your specific contribution. Please note that due to conference space limitations across the week and to ensure that panels have a good audience presence, we ask proposers to submit no more than two contributions. The submitter is the first author, assumed to be the presenter and corresponding contributor. If someone submits more than two contributions, only the first two submissions by that person will be reviewed.
The organizers expect to receive your submission by 10 November 2026.
Submission Instructions
- When submitting your proposal, you can select from the panels, roundtables, or special sessions distributed across 12 themes, 2 labs and 3 special sessions.
- If your contribution doesn’t fit any of the available sessions, select the last option: “None of the accepted panels” and you will be prompted to select from one of 12 themes, 2 labs or 3 special sessions.
- If you do not find a theme, lab, or special session suited to your topic, submit your abstract through the final theme – “12. Open Call and Emerging Approaches.” The Conference Committee will figure out a session for it to be a part of.
- If you submit a poster, you are expected to attend in person and be prompted to select one of the conference themes.
If you have any questions, please send a message to IASC2027@forsoc.org.
