International Graduate Student Conference (IGSC) 2026


February 12–15, 2026, Jefferson Hall, East-West Center, Honolulu, Hawai‘i

The East-West Center will host the International Graduate Student Conference (IGSC) 2026, an annual gathering that brings together graduate students from around the world to present research on the Asia-Pacific region. Founded in 2002, IGSC is a student-run, interdisciplinary conference that fosters scholarly exchange through paper presentations, panel discussions, and cross-cultural dialogue.

2026 Theme

“Legacies Through Time: Rethinking the Past, Confronting the Present, Shaping the Future”
This year’s conference invites participants to examine how inherited legacies—and those we create—shape histories, identities, memory, artistic expression, and environmental change.

Conference Format

  • In-person event at the East-West Center
  • Keynote address, closing panel, and paper presentations are open to the public
  • Receptions and meals are limited to conference registrants
  • Same-day registration will be available on the opening day
