The School of Pacific & Asian Studies (SPAS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa participated in the annual UH Mānoa Research Day at the Hawai’i State Capitol on February 3, 2026. This year’s theme, “Community – UH Partnerships for One Health,” highlights the interconnectedness of human, animal, plant, and environmental health – and celebrates community-university collaborations that advance resilience and well-being across Hawai’i and the Pacific.

SPAS hosted an informational booth focused on Resilience and Well-being through the National Resources Centers’ Programs. Representing the National Resource Center [NRC] for Southeast Asian Studies was Teri Skillman (Associate Director), Joan Pan (Associate Director, NRC for East Asia), Lt. Governor Sylvia Luke, Mark Levin (Director, NRC for East Asia), and Foley Pfalzgraf (Outreach Director, NRC for Pacific Island Studies).
