Public lecture ‘Saints, Companions, and Sinners’ by Dr. Teren Sevea (Harvard Divinity School) featured on Manoa Mirror


On February 5, CSEAS and Department of Religion hosted a public lecture, titled ‘Saints, Companions, and Sinners’ by Dr. Teren Sevea, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Associate Professor of Islamic Studies, Harvard Divinity School. The lecture explores interspecies histories from Islamic Asia, learning from communities’ narratives about the entangled relationships among animals, humans and trees. Highlights from the event is featured in an article titled ‘Interspecies Stories and Lessons from Islamic Asia’ on Mānoa Mirror. The lecture is part of the Muslim Societies of Asia & the Pacific Lecture series hosted by CSEAS.
