Vietnamerica — Simulcast Film Screening & Discussion

Tuesday, November 18, 12:00 PM, Hamilton Library, Room 306

Discover the story of the Vietnamese “boat people” through Vietnamerica. The film follows Master Nguyen Hoa as he returns to former refugee camps in Southeast Asia after three decades to search for the graves of his wife and two children. Hoa fled Vietnam by boat in 1981 with family and friends—he was the only survivor.

Executive Producer Nancy Bui (Vietnamese Heritage Foundation) joins GETSEA and 25 universities across North America for a simultaneous screening and live Zoom discussion about the Vietnamese diaspora and how Hoa’s story illuminates a collective experience.
