This promotion recognizes his deep commitment to teaching, research, and community-engaged scholarship in the field of urban and regional planning, with a focus on Southeast and South Asia.
About Dr. Das
Dr. Das teaches courses on planning theory and history, urbanization and globalization, research design, and planning in Asia at UH Mānoa’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning. His research explores institutional challenges and innovations in addressing urban poverty in the Global South—particularly in Indonesia, where he has conducted fieldwork since the mid-2000s.
His key interests include:
