We are hiring: Web Resources Coordinator


The Center for Southeast Asian Studies at UHM is seeking for a Web Resources Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop, maintain, and upgrade when needed the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) website in consultation with the CSEAS director/staff [website: http://www.cseashawaii.org]
  2. Build web pages and create/maintain web archives to support resource content.
  3. Work with CSEAS staff to maintain social media accounts Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube using the Hootsuite social media management platform.
  4. Build pages for streaming video and podcasting of Southeast Asia related materials for use as educational outreach.
  5. Design and maintain online application forms for scholarships, faculty travel, and other application-related needs.
  6. Work together with the CSEAS program research & development coordinator and public relations coordinator to provide assistance with the design and production of informational public relations materials for Center programs.
  7. Design and publish the Center’s annual report.
  8. Maintain on-line calendar of Center events.
  9. Work with student journal Explorations editorial board to format and post the journal on the website and ScholarSpace when completed.
  10. Work with faculty to help post web-ready outreach materials on the CSEAS website.
  11. Evaluate hardware and software for compatibility with continuing web and multimedia development.
  12. Track website and social media analytics.
  13. Maintain and update documentation regarding CSEAS digital assets.
  14. Assist with training staff for website use and maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking graduate program at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa; and in good standing.
  2. Familiarity with Mac operating system and major design software applications for a Mac office
  3. Possess advanced competency when using WordPress or similar publishing platform
  4. Proven competency in graphic design.
  5. Experience with mining web analytics for report writing.
  6. Organizational ability that includes attention to detail, self-initiating, able to work with minimum supervision in a sometimes fast-paced office environment as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Proven competency in incorporating streaming video and podcasting technology in web design.
  2. Competency in the use of Adobe Professional Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  3. Informed knowledge of Southeast Asia via a familiarity with Southeast Asian languages and/or cultures.
  4. Computer science or educational technology background.
  5. Working knowledge of ADA compliant web accessibility protocols.
