Global Seal of Biliteracy Certificate

The Hawai’i Language Roadmap Initiative invites Spring, Summer, and Fall 2022 graduates who have studied six different Southeast Asian languages at UHM to earn a Global Seal of Biliteracy! Over the past year, despite the pandemic and online classes, we have seen an increase in students taking the exam and successfully earning a Global Seal of Biliteracy across multiple languages, including Spanish and Filipino (Tagalog). Thanks to your help in telling your students about this opportunity, this year we awarded:

7 Students with a Global Seal of Biliteracy: Professional Fluency,

11 Students with a Global Seal of Biliteracy: Working Fluency, and

11 Students with a Global Seal of Biliteracy: Functional Fluency.

Please consider earning this Seal of Biliteracy to enhance your professional dossier if you have taken advanced courses in CambodianFilipino (Tagalog), IlokanoIndonesianThai, or Vietnamese.  The attached informational flyers explain the Global Seal, and list testing dates available in person throughout the semester. Testing dates for this month will be on Wednesday, August 10 from 9 am-1 pm, and Monday, August 15 from 12 pm-4 pm.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Raiza Dalofin (Testing Program Coordinator), Hawai’i Language Roadmap Initiative.
