CFP for CCS/CSEAS Seminar

Aloha UH CSEAS ‘Ohana,

Hope you are all well. We would like to invite you to lead a joint Center for Chinese Studies (CCS)-CSEAS panel/seminar this academic year that links China and Southeast Asia, as part of CCS Seminar Series. The CCS has put forth nine formats:

1) An interdisciplinary faculty dialogue on a shared research topic
2) A panel discussion on a particular current topic relevant to Chinese Studies
3) An inter-Asia or inter-regional presentation/panel/ dialogue (co-sponsored by any of the SPAS area studies centers)
4) A conference report from a disciplinary field that highlights cutting edge idea and trends,
5) An oral report on a newly published or controversial book in one’s field
6) A book launch panel (to introduce and celebrate a CCS member’s new book)
7) Co-sponsoring an event or talk in your home department (e.g. if you have a Visiting Scholar who engages in Chinese Studies)
8) Administrative voice (on UHM’s Area Studies initiatives or personal research)
9) Community voice (to promote the connection between “Town & Gown”)

Anyone who is interested in participating or organizing a seminar in any one of the above nine formats, please send a brief proposal (200-300 words) outlining relevant information asap or contact Dr. Wang Wensheng directly if you wish to discuss further.

Mahalo,
UH CSEAS
