2017-18 Luce Undergraduate Fellowship

Luce Foundation Undergraduate Fellowships are available for Academic year 2017-18 at UHM. Eligible languages offered at UHM include Cambodian (Khmer), Tagalog, Ilokano, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese. The scholarships are funded by a grant from Henry Luce Foundation for the advancement of studies of Southeast Asia and are made available via the Dean of the School of Pacific and Asian Studies (SPAS).

Eligibility:

  • The fellowships are for first-year language study; applicants do not need prior Southeast Asian language experience.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
  • Applicants must be full-time, classified undergraduate students at UH Mānoa at the time of the application.
  • Applicants must have or intend to declare a major or minor in Asian Studies (SEA focus) or a related field and demonstrate a commitment to the study of Southeast Asia.

Fellowship amount: $6,500 for the academic year ($3,250 per semester).
