Vietnam Film Institute Celebrates 40th Anniversary

The Vietnam Film Institute (VFI, formerly known as the Vietnam Film Documentation Institute) was established forty years ago, on September 22, 1979. VFI functions as the country’s national film archive. The Center for Southeast Asian Studies warmly congratulates our friends at VFI on their 40th anniversary! To access our congratulatory video that was streamed at their ceremony in September, click on the Vimeo link below.

VFI published a write-up of their 40th anniversary ceremony. To access a pdf (in English) of the write-up, go here.

To learn more about the Vietnam Film Institute, you can read this profile by Dr. Jan-Christopher Horak, director, UCLA Film & Television Archive.
