The EAST SEA PART II: POSSIBILITIES FOR PEACE
The EAST SEA PART II: POSSIBILITIES FOR PEACE
April 24th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm PT (2pm – 5pm HT)
The EAST SEA PART II: POSSIBILITIES FOR PEACE will focus on ways to move towards peaceful resolutions. As you know, the East Sea is one of the most heavily disputed regions in the world, with six countries vying for control of both sea and land mass (China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei). At stake is the largest fishery, third largest hydrocarbon off-shore reserves, and 80% of the total sea trade route in the world. The race to control these resources means the potential for war looms large. Yet, ironically these tensions are not well known by many outside of this region.
