Film Series: Seroks- Life is a Photocopy

October 13, 2010 @ 6:30 PM - 8:50 PM

Wednesday, 13 October 2010
Philippines, 2006 (107 min)
Tagalog with English subtitles

Director: Ed Lejano
Cast: Juliana Palermo, Neil Ryan Sese, Lauren Novero, Mystika, Alchris Galura, Soliman Cruz, Ramon Bautista, Bong Aragon, Gerry Cornejo, Dyal Chowdhary, Nathan Lopez, Maria Isabel Lopez.

Set in the gritty world of Recto, the indie digital feature centers on a Xerox operator (played by Neil Sese) who meets a mysterious woman who moves into the boarding house above a photocopy shop named Seroks (Xerox).

The fateful encounter between Palermo’s femme fatale character and Sese triggers a series of repeating story elements that will involve the film’s other offbeat and diverse characters. As the story unfolds, all the characters get intertwined into a mosaic of human experience where they all seem to meet a similar “xeroxed” fate as reflected in the film’s title.

Serok replicates the contemporary realities of piracy and forgery as it tackles the nature of identities, whether genuine or fake, in this intriguing Pinoy thriller.
