Malaysian instrumental band, Citizens of Ice Cream, is based on the book title Emperor of Ice Cream by Brian Moore, whose title is based on the Wallace Steven’s poem of the same name, which is also featured in the book.

The muscular one, and bid him whip
In kitchen cups concupiscent curds.

As they are used to wear, and let the boys

The author’s perspective on life and social conditions were very similar to the band members, and thus the band name was formed. However, they don’t consider themselves emperors, but rather citizens.
